Hi my name is Sanford Ross Laufer, but everybody calls me Sandy. I was born in Queens New York. Ever since I can remember I always wanted to be a writer. I remember once when I was in the 4th grade and I told my mother my dream, she looked at me and said “Well you have to write, if you want to be a writer”. I did what she said and started writing short stories. As the years went on I kept writing and never told anybody, friends, family, nobody! I am not sure why I never shared my love, but I didn’t, until the 7th grade, I let my good friend Marneen read one of my short novels. He was very supportive and told me he enjoyed it. Unfortunately, even at the young age of 12 things do not always go as planned. I had a bar mitzvah to prepare for, I noticed that girls were much more interesting than boys, and so on. The writing stopped but not my desire to do it. Unfortunately, I was not the best student so after high school I joined the workforce full time. It turned out that I had a good knack for business and could do okay for myself. Over the years I was fortunate enough to enjoy life. I quit my job and lived in a van for four months with my buddy Dave, met the girl of my dreams Susan, who I am lucky enough to call my wife. We moved to south Florida, started another successful business. Even though things were going my way I still had the itch to write. So, I pulled out the laptop and got to work. Of course, Susan would read my writings and tell me she enjoyed them, of course being my wife how could I not think she was not biased, so next up was my sister Gail who said she loved it. So now I had a library of three books, which one should I publish? I enlisted a group of friends and sent them each a copy, I told them I wanted to publish one of them, and I wanted their opinion on which one they liked best, if they enjoyed them at all. The only instructions I gave was to be truthful no mater my feelings. I was shocked to hear that they liked them all! There was a tie between the first book I wrote Blast from the Past, and the last book I wrote Friends till the End. Decisions, decisions I had one last hope my brutally honest mother in-law who is an avid reader. She did not disappoint, out of the three books one was thrown back in my face telling me it was terrible. She did surprise me by telling me that she enjoyed Friends Till the End, and I should have it published, so that was the book I went with. I can now say with all honesty it has done better than expected in sales and the reviews have been so uplifting.
Thank you all for visiting my website as well as all your support.
Respectfully
Sandy Laufer.
P.S I did rewrite a few chapters in Blast from The Past which will hopefully be out in a few months.
